A letter to the Baby

Dear Baby Grayson,

Please stop punching my bladder and pushing and kicking on my ribs. I understand that there is not a lot of room in there... but you stretching and kicking all day long is not making it any better... it only hurts Mommy. Also, things are only going to get worse... so you would be better off just making yourself comfortable and settling in for a nice nap. If you would like to come early, you are welcome to! Your room is getting closer to being ready... Just a few more weeks
and we'll be all set up for you!

Now a few pictures for Aunty Laura. :)

I did not have the best photographer for this picture... but we tried. :)

The front view... so crafty ;)

Hello Third Trimester

This seems to work out well... the beginning of my third trimester is also the start of fall and the beginning of the last three months of the year. The baby has planned this out quite nicely. The problem lately is that I'm getting very antsy... I'm ready for Christmas. As much as I love the fall and the changing of the leaves and carving pumpkins... I want to just skip to December. And have my Christmas tree up and listen to Christmas music everyday guilt free (because every once in awhile I listen to it now...) and get ready for the snow and drink eggnog lattes... and be done with being pregnant. :)

My latest joy in being pregnant is back pain. And I know this is something that every pregnant woman deals with but I didn't realize just how obnoxious it was until now. By the end of the day my back hurts... there is no way to adjust my work chair or the car seat that makes it feel even slightly better. What I want to do... and what I think would help... would be to lay on the floor on my back and get it all stretched out and relaxed... except I can't lay on my back for more than 5 minutes without getting nauseous. So what is a girl to do? (I am accepting suggestions.)

The rumors are true...

And one of these days... I'll post a picture or two.  :)

I had lunch with my sister in a hole because I can.

So I was reading another blog today... and they had this little game that you play with your birthday and the color shirt you are wearing.  The title is what I got.  And I thought... this is stupid.  It's not very funny or far off of something that could be true.  So then I asked Sissy what color her shirt was.  And her's was MUCH better!  And then I was pretty entertained so I did Dave's andhis was even better!!!  And then I did Kyle's... and it's just random... but still 10 times better than mine.  I could have gone on forever... but there are only so many people I will creep out by asking what color shirt they are wearing.

Sissy:  I loved a snowman in my car because I'm a Ninja!

Dave:  I licked a smurf in a hole because I'm cool like that.

Kyle:  I had lunch with a phone sliding down a hill because I'm sexy and I do what I want.

The moral of this story is that I'm lame... but you guys are cool.  Except for Sissy because even though she's a Ninja who loves snowmen... she does not write fun blogs. ;)  I love you Sissy!!!

That is all for now.

I am pleased to announce that today was better than yesterday even though I was at work.

The End.

I am not having good feelings about the rest of my day...

So it's only 7:20 in the morning... and my creeped-out-by-the-world-o-meter is very high.

First, as we are driving to work and I am quietly drinking my coffee and reading sports articles on my iPhone, Dave says to me "The guy in front of us kills people".  And I'm all WHAT?!
So I look closely and the guy has a bumper sticker on the window of his truck canopy that says:

Guns don't kill people
I KILL PEOPLE!

Just like that... with the big red text.  Only it was the weird drippy letter scary text... there just isn't that option here...

Then we get to my office and Dave drops me off.  And as I'm walking around the Sephora this dirty creepy guy with a huge bag from Kohl's stops and starts digging through his bag.  So I'm already slightly creeped out and I start walking a big circle around him so I don't get to close and he goes "Hey, you don't happen to be a 34B do you?"  (And yes... all I can think is that he was asking me my bra size!)  So I say no... and speed walk into my building as fast as I possibly can.  Luckily for me the front door to the building locks behind me... but HOLY CRAP!!!  I'm now too creeped out to concentrate.

Moral of this story:  I HATE working downtown and there are too many weird creepy people in the world.

Since You Asked So Nice...

Subtitle:  Our Super Awesome Valentines Day

Alright Sissy... here is a super long blog so that you have something to read when you get bored.  :)

I had the best Valentines Day ever... actually it's been an awesome weekend so far.  It started out after work Friday... we went to The Lion King.  It was awesome!  They added a couple songs... which were not so awesome.  But in the end it was amazing and the costumes were fantastic!!!  Then when we came home... our recycle bin was still out front.  Our crazy neighbors had not stolen it again!!  (A highlight of my day, sadly.)

Then on Valentines Day I woke up.  And went to the store to buy breakfast stuff.  (I talked to you on my way home...)  And I made french toast with yummy cinnamon swirl bread and sausage and coffee and brought Dave breakfast in bed.

After breakfast we decided to walk/hike down to the water.  We have this awesome park a little over a mile from our house... that had been closed for a long time because of flood damage but recently reopened.  Dave had gone running there a couple times with the dog because once you get there, there is a 1 and a quarter mile trail down to a beach.  I hadn't been there yet so we took a shower and walked down there.  I've included some pictures that I took on my phone because I forgot the camera but it's better than nothing.

This shows the flood damage.  The creek had washed out the trail in a couple places and they had to rebuild it.

Boomer loves hiking!

Here he is tired of sitting and ready to get going!

I thought this was a super cool tree.  It is growing out of a stump and the branches that bend up like benches kind of look like they were supposed to be roots but then they changed their mind and became off shoots of the tree.  There were a bunch like this along the trail.  My favorite that I didn't get a picture of... was a dead tree that had fallen across the creek but then a couple branches of it had stayed alive and grown into big trees!  I'll take a picture next time we go out there... or we'll take you guys out there when you come visit!  :)

The Boomer and Dave on the beach.  The beach is bigger than this but not too big.  And there are picnic tables and all that jazz.  The land to the left is Whidbey Island and you can also watch the Edmonds/Kingston Ferry cross the water from here.  Boomer likes chasing the birds... that's why there are none in this picture.

After we got back from the beach we went Valentines Day shopping together.  :)  First we went to Target and I bought Dave a bunch of two person games that we will both like to play at night together.  We got Jenga (which he had never played until the weekend before and loved it!), Backgammon (which we can't figure out how to play...), Boggle, and Dominos.  Then we went to Blockbuster and rented Burn After Reading and Kung Fu Panda.  And then we went to QFC where Dave bought me tulips and a bottle of champagne and raspberries.  We also bought brie and bread for a nice mid-afternoon snack.

Once we got home and finished our brie and bread we brought out Backgammon... but like I said could not figure out how to play it.  So instead we played Jenga.

This was the tallest we got it.  But we caught it a couple times and readjusted so it wouldn't fall.  It got up to 32 stacks high before it fell.  Apparently if you are an expert you can get it up to 36 stacks high.  That's double what it starts from!  (We are Jenga nerds...)

After Jenga we ordered take-out from PF Changs.  We watched Burn After Reading while eatting dinner.  Do not ever watch this movie.  It was awful!  Then we watched Kung Fu Panda while drinking champagne and eatting chocolate and raspberries.  I highly recommend this movie.  It was so super cute.  Plus Jack Black is awesome... no one else could have pulled it off.

And that is my best Valentines ever!  It could have been only slightly better if I hadn't watched that first super terrible movie.  But otherwise it was FANTASTIC.

THE END

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Sissy!!!

I miss you and I love you!  I hope you have a super wonderful day!  Today I will send your present!  Sorry it's late... but just think of it as me extending your birthday celebration.  :)

I wanted to load a special song on here for you... but all I can do is add a video.  And I don't have a video... so I'm adding a picture instead.  Sorry to be lame.

everyone else is doing it

Hi Sissy!  Your turn... we can attempt to be bloggers together... hehehehe.  Too bad there aren't more people in our family so we can have tons of links ;)

Ok... I'll be serious... I started this blogger to wish my Sissy "Happy Birthday" tomorrow because I'm lame and keep forgetting to email her gift.  So for now... this will have to do!  ;)  I'll call too!!!

Maybe I'll even update it again tomorrow.  We'll see...
